This is strange. I've created an ODBC connection for our Great Plains DB (MS-SQL) and if I use the Query Analyzer or MS-Access, everything looks fine. I can view the GP tables like any other DB. When I create a new report in CR XI and connect to the GP DB, I can only see these things that look like stored-procs. Normally I would see tables, views and stored-procs under the DB connection in CR XI. But for some reason I only see these items under a folder called dbo. Can someone please give this poor old guy a hand ??

If you're using the same user/pw, you have access to the same objects.

You may be filtering out other objects, check the File->Options->Database->Data Explorer and make sure that all objects are checked.

Thanks for the response. If I connect to any other databases I see everything that I am suppose to. I don't think it is an issue with what the explorer is displaying in CR. I am wondering if it is to do with the combination of software versions ( I know - a stab in the dark ). I am running Great Plains (MS-Business Solutions) v8 and Crystal Reports XI and DataDirect ODBC for MS-SQL Server 2000. The strange thing is that using MS-Access to view the Great Plains tables through the same ODBC connection works fine. I am really scratching my head on this one. Anyone see this before ?

OK synapsevampire - your suggestion was close. Apparently there is a bug in CR that if there are too many objects to display for the ODBC connection, CR messes up the display and losses track of the tables/views/stored-procs. The workaround when this happens is to uncheck all options (views/stored-procs/etc) that you do not need and only leave the tables option selected. Then voila !! Only the tables display as expected and you can continue on with the report development.

Thanks for yor help.

Thanks for posting the workaround, might save someone else some frustration/time.
