I am trying to get a crystal report working from a web page utilizing crystals WCS. The report is getting its data from a interbase5 database situated on the same server as both the IIS the crystal components and is also actually the same machine I am trying my initial testing from. The problem is as follows.
If I save the data with the report it will work fine but if I try and refresh the data (which basically means the reports needs to access the live data off the database) it comes up with a logon prompt to put in user and password for the database -when I do this is just keeps displaying this prompt. - if I run the report from crystal it will refresh fine.
I have tried all the suggestions from the crystal site and still get the same result - I have even had someone else try it and they get the sme results?
I am using CR8, interbase5 with an very simple test database containing only one record, I connect from the report to this database via an interbase ODBC driver.
ANyone got any ideas??

Hi Slava55 - I have tried alot of "playing" with all sorts of parts including the database location -however if I play with thoses parts and set them incorrectly I wont even be able to view the report from the normal Crystal report writting screens, we may have just about figured it out as it has now worked on a couple of PC's we have here and is looking like a simple setting that originates from the properties of the page server service - I am formating our test WIn2000 server with NTFS and will be doing a full fresh install to see if this is the cure -I will post it up if it is - thanks for the suggestion though

Hi To anyone who read this problem I was haveing. We finally tracked it to a very simple setting as follows
I installed WIn2000 server onto a NTFS file system and basically left everything to default -ensured it was going to add in the Internet Information Services. The only non default settings were name and IP address.
I then installed interbase5 (I actually installed Firebird which is the free version of Interbase5, also installed the firebird ODBC driver).
I then configured the Fire ODBC driver with a system DSN to point to a interbase database I had and put in the user and password details required for the database table concerned) now comes the setting which got it all to go! In the "seagate pager server" service go to its properties - then its logon tab, now ensure logon as local system account is selected (this is default) then select allow services to interact with desktop - this was the non default setting which got it all to go.
