Is the latest version of Crystal Reports backwards compatible with version 6 and 7?

I need to make sure that all of the new reports will work in the new version without any hitch.

Let me know what you think and suggest.

Thanks

Crystal has a very limited backward compatibility.

Reports in V8 can be "SAVED AS" a V7 report and run with V7. But a V8 report without conversion cannot be run in V7. Neither V7 nor V8 reports can under any circumstances be run with V6.

V6 reports can usually be run with V7/V8 without conversion, but won't perform very well. V7 and V8 can convert a V6 into the later format. Ken Hamady
