Crystal Reports v11 - How do I perform a DistinctCount & Sum 1

I need to sum our sales in a 'Net Sales' column but first, I need to perform a disinct function prior to doing a sum function (since there are repeated sales amounts that are not needed)....what's the correct syntax and formula used to perform these functions?

Try inserting a running total that sums your field, but evaluates on change of field (Item#?) that is unique to the sum that is repeating, and resets on change of group (or resets never for a grand total).
