VB.Net 2008 and Crystal Reports that comes with VS 2008. Just spent three hours tracking this one down. Two users signing on to the same computer through terminal services. First user could run reports. Second user received "The Report Application Server Failed" error. Re-installed the app, CR runtimes, checked all permissions we could think of. I finally found an obscure remark about printers on one of my google searches and thought we should check out the printers. When the second user signed on terminal services it was assigning his local default printer as the default printer on the remote computer. We changed that default printer to one of remote computer's installed printers and the error went away. Not sure why this worked but maybe it will help somebody else. Maybe someone has a better explanation/solution out there.
