Crystal reports Source Code security

We currently use Crystal Reports with Oracle 9i for a major part of our data reporting functions. In most cases the report is based upon a view of the Oracle database tables. I want to deploy a security system that will allow us to store the report definitions s well as the underlying SQL that created the view in a "safe" location. I would also like to be able to check out the code when it is being modified etc and retain version control over the crystal report definitions as well as the SQL.
Does anyone have any suggestions, comments, other areas of concern that I should lok at? etc
