Hello: I am trying to install Crystal Reports Server XI (the simple, 5 user license version). My company does not have technical support.

We are trying to get a new box up and running because our current implementation is on a Dell with an expired lease.

I have SQL Server database on a different box set up, on the same network as the old CR Server and the new CR server.

When I install CR Server XI, I notice that it does not have separate "NameOfServer.destinationjobserver", or "NameOfServer.pageserver", etc. like our production implementation does.

When I go to the CCM and try to add additional types of Job Servers through the wizard, I see the option "Job Server" in the drop down list. When I try to type, for example "Page Server" in the Type and "NameOfServer.pageserver" in the Server Name field, the program will not let me do it.

I have hunted the internet, the BO Knowledge Base, the Install Guide, the Admin guide to no avail.

Thanks.

Hi,
Why, if you want a Job Server why would you want to:

Choose Page Server from the New server drop-down list..

Are you attempting to use an existing CMS without updating it to the XI format?

We are migrating from Crystal Reports Server XI to Crystal Reports Server XI from a box that has it's lease expired to one that we own.

I only see "Job Server" in the top drop down list, not Destination Job Server, Page Server, etc.

This is a Windows implementation. thx.

Hi,
OK,on the original box, if you check the 'add server' item in the CCM or with the wizard ( if CR Server does not have the CCM), do other server types appear?

If the original one has page, job, destination etc., then something went wrong in your new box installation...

Could be that CR Server only has job servers, but I do not use it ( we use BOE XI) so I am not sure..

Yes, on our current Crystal Reports Server XI implementation, I see Destination Job Server, Crystal Reports Job Server, etc.

I was thinking that something went wrong with the new install, too. I have experience with Business Objects Enterprise XI premium edition also. This is my first time doing it with Crystal Reports Server XI.

Anyone else got any ideas before I wipe and reload?

Thx.

Hi,
Go to the Add/Remove programs tab in the Control Panel and select the CR server program..You should get an option to change ( in addition to remove and reinstall)..

You can then add the additional server components that are missing..
