Can Crystal Reports send error alert notification,to (Lotus Notes): Email, or logfile keywords to Enterprise Management Systems such as (NETCOOL) when a reports fails ?
I have CR version 9.0.0.281 and it is scheduled to run some reports on demand and some automatically. Some of the reports have been known to fail for various reasons. When they fail I can check the folder history on my Crystal Management Console
to see the instance information for what caused the report error. I would like to have the report automatically notify me either by email or send a alarm message to snmp based NetCool if it failed to run successfully or if it produced an error code. Can you help me with this. Attached is a sample of the report instance for a failed report:
Status: Failed
Printer: The instance is not printed.
External Destination: File copy the instance with name " 2005-05-08-00-05-24 - Weekly Event Frequency by Severity.pdf " to the directory: " //nocmgt/pub/ESM Documents/Reports/Weekly Top Events by Orig. Severity/ ".
Start Time: 5/8/2005 12:05:24 AM
End Time: 5/8/2005 12:05:24 AM
Server Used: WCHICR01IT.report
Error Message: Unable to connect: incorrect log on parameters. File C:\Program Files\Crystal Decisions\Enterprise 9\Data\procSched\WCHICR01IT.report\~tmp14803d56f557c00.rpt.
OK
