I have a colleague who is working with an application that dynamically passes the dataset to a crystal report. He does not have access to the application's source code, but does have design access to the crystal report. Is there a way for him to get the where clause from the report? The data source of the report is a select statement without a where clause. Previewing the report returns all records. When running it from the application, the where clause is generated and the application passes a single row of data to the report.

TIA...

I don't think so - that would be dependant on your applications' rules. YOur friend may just have crystal viewer and is seeing the end result of a query - but seeing the select is up to the software and his rights regarding it.

Thanks!

There are database tools that allow the SQL statements to be seen at the database manager. SQL Profiler is the tool for SQL Server to name one. Askg the DBA for your organization to assist.
