I have Crystal Reports and Crystal Enterprise 9.0. I'm having a hard time finding good documentation. I want my end-users to use their browsers to view a crystal report. It is not necessary for them to modify anything other than dates. I want it to prompt them for the date range they want and for it to open in the browser. Everything I read on this CD says it can be done but, doesn't explain how to do it. Could someone please tell me how to get the report to display?

Create your report in Crystal Reports v9 and use a parameter to limit the Date Range.
Once you've got the report tested and working on it's own, then publish it to CE.
You can publish in one of three ways:
1.) From Crystal Reports, choose File-Save As, and select the Crystal Enterprise button at the lower left. Log into CE and choose the folder to save to.
2.) From the Crystal management Console (CMC), navigate to the folder that you wish to save the report to, and then click New Object. Browse to the location of the RPT file and add it to CE.
3.) Use the Publishing Wizard (overkill if you're just publishing one report)

Once the report is published to CE, go to the CMC, find the report object, and set database credentials and default parameter values.
Make sure the parameters are set to "Prompt user when viewing"

Hi,
Are you sure you read the docs for Crystal Enterprise? ( They are on the CD - at least in v10 they were) They take you through the steps needed to deploy reports on a web site ( Installing/setting up the CE environment, publishing the Reports, creating user accounts etc)..

There are also docs on the Business Objects support site:
Try this page first:

To Paraphrase:"The Help you get is proportional to the Help you give.."

Once CE is installed on a machine with IIS, give the users the path to the CE eportfolio, and they can log in. There are security issues, such as whether you will use NT Authetication, add users to Enterprise itself, etc.

There's plenty of documentation in CE on the CD, check out the Administrators Guide.

But it's not the same as installing MS Word or some such, learning to implement business intelligence correctly requires a fair amount of knowledge and experience, and if you create your Crystal Reports with date parameters and add the date parameters into the Report->Selection Formulas->Record, and enable them within Crystal Enterprise, they will be prompted.

You might consider a consultant for a few days to get you started.
