Crystal Reports on MetaFrame

SETUP: Application installed on MF 1.8 for Windows TS 4.0 with SP6. Said application has Crystal Reports v7.0 embedded within it.

SYMPTOM: The majority of the "canned" reports in the application run. 2 Reports do not. All of these reports have PARAMETERS. The reports that DO work prompt for the parameters and retrieve data. The reports that DO NO work don't even prompt for the parameters.

STEPS TAKEN: 1.Copied CRYSTAL dlls from WTSRV\CRYSTAL to WTSRV\SYSTEM32. 2. Tried VARIOUS NT Security settings on WTSRV, SYSTEM32 and CRYSTAL folders. 3. Tried logging into SERVER as ADMIN

Please help me with this!!!!!!

When you say that the reports don't work, what errors do you get - if any?

I've only heard of 2 fixes for dodgy reports;

1) Copy the crystal directory to the users homedrives

2) Copy the dlls from \winnt\crystal to \winnt\system32 (as you have done).

Have you tried using Filemon to trace the reports?

I don't get any errors. The report "viewer" just sits there with a grey screen and an hour glass.

I have tried placing the Crystal DLLs in the users profile and in SYSTEM32.

I am still playing with FILEMON and REGMON to see if I can find a failure point.

Check your registry settings for Crystal. We have Peoplesoft running on our Citrix server and it uses Crystal Reports. There are some directories that must be present for our version of psoft/crystal to run properly. If you have registry entries for your application that point to directories, make sure they are actually present, or the user has rw rights to it.
