Hi

Can anyone confirm the following, If I create a report through crystal reports using Goldmine database located on a server and save the report into Goldmine Reports etc... the following occurs

When that report gets synchronised to a remote Laptop running Goldmine and the report is run, should Goldmine automatically know where the database files are kept example on the server there are located l:\Goldmine\gmbase etc... on the laptop C:\Goldmine\gmbase? and change accordingley at report runtime.

I thought that Goldmine somehow new to change the location of the databases for Laptop reports - I have some reports that must do this - or is it something in Crystal that sorts this out.

I'm confused.

This is a crystal issue, and there is no way I am aware of for crystal to "automatically" set location. However if you just click on database, set location, and point to your C:\drive, the report will reset in a second or so.

Hi

One quick way around the issue is to place the following in the autoexec.bat of the laptop:

subst i: c:
This will create a new drive called i: that is a mirror of c:\. Therefore the path i:\goldmine\gmbase will be seen by the report and run without issue

Thanks for your responses, I eventually figure ths one out, we have a seperate Laptop reports directory that's copied when goldmine is installed, all those reports have been set to look at the c:\, my error , but thanks again for your help
