I am having extreme difficulty with some of the features of Crystal XI not woking correctly. Uninstalling and reinstalling have not corrected the situation. I have been leary of deleting anything from the Windows Registry, although I made sure that all of the pertenint files had been deleted. I also applied service pack I.

Now here is the problem: Some of the features just don't work. If I click on Formula Field/New I get a dialog box allowing me to name it, but I do not get the next dialog box to allow me to actually create the formula. In fact, the main window's title bar acts as if the main window is not even the active window. If I click on the window there is only a sound indicating the window is not active. Pressing the escape key will make it become the active window again.

There have been some of the other "experts" that have acted the same way.

My data source is an Oracle database. I get the records I need to create reports; I just cannot include the features necessary for professional reports.

There must be a secret to getting this software to work properly at all times.

Hi,

This sounds very peculiar and I would contact Business Objects for installation support.

You didn't tell us what operating system you are using - and what other Crystal software resides on the same drive partition as the one you are using for Crystal XI.

I have installed the application hundreds of times and have not come across your problem.

Cheers

Crystal XI is installed on my hard drive and I store the completed reports on a network drive. Crystal 9.0 has been installed from the network. I am using Windows XP SP2. I also have a dual monitor situation.

Hi,
1:Be sure you have full rights ( Create/Modify/Delete) to the network directory with your reports..

2: Look for 'hidden' windows when you attempt to create a new formula - sometimes the new window is mislocated and may also be opened minimized..
