crystal reports not able to find mysql tables

HI, I'm using Crystal reports 8.5, attempting to connect to mysql 4.0.18-0 using odbc. I tested my odbc and it is able to connect fine to mysql. When I open a new report in crystal, it sees the odbc, but crystal wont find any tables.
"...no items found"
I don't think this is a crystal problem because I can connect to other mysql servers and find and use tables without a problem.
any ideas?

According to Crtsyal support at

you need to install a hot fix for Crystal to update to crdb_odbc.dll, version 9.2.1.600, dated 05/01/2003 or later.

The hotfix can be found at ftp://ftp.crystaldecisions.com/outgoing/EHF/CR90DBEXWIN_EN.ZIP

I tried this and it solved the problem for me.
