Hi there,

Can anyone notify me of the significance of creating crystal reports in a Microsoft SQL Server environment. Anything that would be out of the ordinary from creating new reports etc? Any links would be handy along with your own interpretation...

... Any overview would be greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,

Rob

In a SQL/Database system, you only have a few choices on users being able to create reports. Crystal is somewhat easy for the user to pop out a quick report and your databases are still password protected. The Users could write reports in Access, but Access also can allow them to manipulate and corrupt your system databases.
When you buy an Accounts Payable or a financial program package, the reports that are packaged with it are usually Crystal. For more advanced programming, Crystal interacts well with Visual Basic.
