Crystal Reports--Count Function

Is there a way to select the data, create a count and use a where clause with and/or to specify the records within Crystal Reports?

Client exports data to excel. I am building a report that needs to tally figures based on data in the excel file. This is a summary of the detail data provided in the file.

There is detail data that I can display for the client. The issue is that the client wants a summary page as well. However, the summary data is not Totals by dollar amounts. The summary consists of tallies.

Example...client would like to know how many leases were executed for the months of January, February, etc... Is there a way to be able to select from all the data where the values are equal to the executed leases?
