I have a retirement report in crystal 8.5...one person in that report has two entries...i need to combine(add) some entries such amt for retirement, days worked, etc but leave the ss#, retirement# , dept number the same as the first row for this person. Need to print this one row only. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Create a Group on the person (SSN or some unique identifier).
Suppress the Group Header and the details section.
In the Group footer, place all of the fields that are not being summarized.(name, SSN, Dept #, etc.)
Create summaries on the appropriate fields (amt, etc.) and place these summaries in the Group Footer as well.

Bob...you're the best...everything worked fine...just one more thing...there are two dept. numbers associated with this person and i want just the dept number from the first row to display right now it is diplaying the number from the second row..everything else is working great. thanks, neil77

Is there some rhyme or reason to the values of the dept number? i.e Is the second number always higher than the first? Or lower?
If the second dept number is always higher, then summarize the dept number using the Minimum summary type.
If it's the other way around, then use the Maximum summary type.

If there's no telling if the dept number will be higher or lower, but you ALWAYS want the first one, then try moving all the stuff that you have in the Group Footer into the Group Header.
That includes fields and summaries.(in this case don't do ANY summary on the dept number.)
