Hi,

I have a peculiar probelm.
the crystal Reports Cleint is showing all junk charecters when i open up a report. Escpecially all the text objects are showing junk charecters. but when i run the report all of the report showing junk charecters.

i have seen the local regiona lsettings of my computer and others too its set up to English. this problem is not consistent. For some reports its fine and for some it shows junk charecters.

I have observed one more thing. when its in design window and the font of the text objects is changed to @Arial unicode MS then it shows in english any other font will show junk charecters.but again if i run the report it shows junk charecters.

I am using Crystal Reports XI R2.

Please help me out. its very urgent.

Thanks in advance.

Read your post:

"Cleint is showing all junk charecters when i open up a report. Escpecially all the text objects are showing junk charecters. but when i run the report all of the report showing junk charecters."

you say it's all junk, especially the text objects, then say it's all junk.

Either it's all junk or it's not, there isn't an especially for the term ALL.

You sort of say the same thing later, perhaps there's a language barrier.

And a Crystal reports client isn't descriptive, do you mean using the WEB client, or?

I would guess that it's a font issue, try switching to a standard Windows font, such as Arial (Truetype) and see what happens.

Also most Windows programs are printer dependent, so make sure that you have a valid and consistent printer driver installed.

Hi synapsevampire,

I am sorry i couldnt explain the problem well.
I should say the report is showing junk charecters.
we are using windows standard Arial font.
the printer is also working fine.

is there any reason by which we can have such problems with font.
please help me ,

Thanks
kiran

it doesn't matter if the printer is working fine, but it may matter which printer driver you used, and Windows does font replacement if the font isn't known or found.

Try changing the printer to another one, as well as the font.

It could be a Windows configuration problem, a missing font, a printer driver which doesn't support the font, etc.
