I am going to stop by Barnes and Noble and pick up a book on CR, can someone suggest a good book please? I would prefer a book with a lot of good examples, which explain how to do hard things. I really dont like books that explain the basic stuff and leave you to figure out the rest on your own.

When I first started out, I used "Crystal Reports for Dummies" book. You may want to start there. This may be too basic though. I find the book(s) and samples that came with Crystal Reports 8 to be the most useful though.

The SCR manual is good - it is also online as a help file, although I've always felt more comfortable reading a book in the bathtub, rather than a monitor. :)
The dummies book is a good intro, which is important too.

Depending on what you are using SCR for, you may then have to get books in other areas (ASP, SQL, etc). It never ends... Malcolm

I really liked the George Peck books, but they aren't for beginners. "The Complete Reference to CR 8" or one for V7. I think BookPool has it for about $30. Ken Hamady
