Hi,

We recently upgrade our Micros Server from 4.8 to 5.1
I have Crystal Report version 9.2 that I use on my PC to edit some of the Micros Report.
Since the upgrade whenever I open a Micros Report I get the following error from Crystal Report:
"The Saved Data will be discarded since one or more formulas failed to compile"
Also when I try to refresh any reports I get the following error:
" The ) is missing."
When I click OK on the error window it takes me to the source code and highlight "SQLcall" in the 'Formula Workshop' window.
From what I understand there are missing dll's that need to be copied from the Micros Server to PC running the crystal reports so that the SQLcall can be resolved.
Anyone happen to know which DLL's need to be copied ?

Thanks in advance.

The SQLCall function is in a library called u2lmicros.dll. It's mainly used for pulling the restaurant name and address from micros.rest_def for the report headers.
You'll also need u2ldts.dll and u25dts.dll; those hold the functions that Micros uses in it's reports to convert dates and times.

However, you're getting those errors because these libraries are version specific to Crystal Reports, so I don't know if it's just a matter of dropping them onto you dev pc. Your version of Crystal may not even look at the XI version of the libraries that are installed on your Micros server.

If you want to get away without buying a copy of Crystal XI you can try making a small report that uses a SQL Expression to get the restaurant name & address and insert it as a subreport in your report headers instead of the existing Micros functions; just under the Report_Title function. You'll also have to get some workarounds for the date/time functions.

Thanks pmegan.
Micros did eventually get back to me and mentioned the file u2lmicros.dll.
I copied it from the server location: C:\Program Files (x86)\Business Objects\BusinessObjects Enterprise 12.0\win32_x86to my local PC: C:\Windows and C:\Windows\SysWOW64.
Crystal report runs properly now.
I will also copy the u2ldts.dll and u25dts.dll that you mentioned as well.

Thanks Again.

Good deal. Do you use Crystal 9 for anything else? I'm just wondering if there would be any problems with non-micros reports.

No, I just use crystal report to modify some of our custom reports in Micros.
I will get Crystal Report XI next year. This is year's IT budget is all spoken for with the 5.1 upgrade [smile]
