Crystal Reports 8.0 problem or setting change needed?

I recently changed from 7.0 to 8.0. I primarily query an Oracle 8i DB. The following problem has been annoying me and I was hoping that someone could point out the obvious. When going to the select expert and selecting a field in the DB, I click on equal, like, or whatever. For example, I click on inbetween for a time range so that I can pick two dates. When I click on the dropdown box to select the time, the hourglass pops up for about a minute (very annoying). Now, I take the same report and go to another machine that has Crystal Reports 7 and it takes about two seconds.

So, is there a bug in CR 8.0 or is a there a setting to solve this annoyance. Thanks
