I have crystal reports 7 and when I grab data from my sql server database that is over 255 characters, all the data is truncated. Is there a way around this with a formula. I do have crystal 9 but if i go with that solution i have to write all the ocx code over to RDC which i really don't want to. Any help greatly appreciated

Crystal 7 will display fields greater than 254, you just can't use them in formulas.

There were issues with certain connectivity types, and database types, and I recall either ODBC or Direct having problems with strings in one version of Crystal, try changing your connectivity type.

I am using odbc.

i'm not using any formulas. I just put the data field on the report. when it hits 254 it truncates it. what connection string do you recommend
