Can anybody give me some ideas what's Crystal Reporting? Does it require programming skills to use? Any help will be much appreciated!

The Product is called Crystal Reports, not Crystal Reporting. They were acquired by Business Objects recently, so the product is undergoing many changes, which are of course geared towards furthering Business Objects, but it is still the best product on the market.

It doesn't require programming skills, however it does have a language within and it will help to learn it.

Reporting goes against databases, so understanding databases is important as well.

Check out their site, but your decision to use the product will be based entirely upon your requirements, there is no generic response.

It is the #1 product in the woold, so the upside is that there is lots of support, as evidenced by this site.

Thank you for your info. I just download Crystal Reports into my computer, but what's "Crystal Reports Sever" for? Do I also need to install that one? Many thanks.

Crystal Reports Server is a miniversion of Business Objects Enterprise. It is used for scheduling, distributing for a small business unit.

In short, you don't need it for Crystal Reports. Once you become adept at creating Cryustal Reports, then you might think about Crystal Reports Server or Business Object Enterprise XI, depending on the size of your company.
