is being used? I am using Crystal 10 and CE 10. In the preferences of CMC I selected Activex viewer. When I execute the report through a web browser, it shows 'Crystal report Viewer'. The look and feel is not the same as Activex viewer with Crystal Enterprise 8.5.

Selecting the active x viewer in the preferences of the CMC will only use that viewer while you view reports from within the CMC. These settings have no effect on the web desktop.

To change the viewer for the web desktop, go to the User Launchpad and select Preference Manager. You can change the viewer that is used from there.

Nuffsaid.

How do I access the User Launchpad/

How do I change in the code?

Thanks!

Account Information Not Recognized
'null' is null or not an object
Please check that the appropriate CMS name and authentication type are specified.
Re-enter your user name and password, and click Log On.
If you are unsure of your account information, contact your system administrator.

This is the error I get when I try to logon as administrator

You don't need to log in as the admin, all users can change their viewer type.

I am to access the 'Web desktop' right? It asks me for a login

Yes, you do have to log on to the desktop, for each individual user including the administrator. (The APOS tool mentioned above lets you set all user preferences in bulk.)

But the "null" message above is throwing me. It's not a bad username or bad password. Are you getting the login page with System:, User Name:, Password:, and Authentication:? Are all fields complete? The admin login for the CMC should also work for the web desktop.

Yes, it asks for the above. When I key in the username and password same as the one I use in CMC, it gives me this error..

Do you get that unpretty look which says 'The report you requested requires further information'?? The green and gray screen?

No, I wasnt able to login using administrator login too. I got the same error as stated above.

I tried the above and this is the error I get now when I try to access the web desktop -
There was an error retrieving data from the server: Automation server can't create object

I think you tried to register the .dll without the required server rights - try it again using an administer account.

Hi,

I know it sounds brutal, however it's been my experience that when you "uninstall" something always gets left behind. Wether it be registry keys, dlls, whatever.
IMHO it's best to start with a "clean" system.

Just my thoughts....
