I am creating personalized statement letters using Crystal that is then loaded into a pdf file. I tried using a text box for a paragraph that contains text and database fields,(dates, and dollar values). The report runs fine but the pdf form on Adobe drops off some of the last characters of text. I then tried using a formula with the text and database fields and the same problem occurs. It's not word-wrapping according to a pdf font I believe. Has anyone tried this? I've got the can-grow function on, but the problem is in the width where the last few letters of a word may be dropped off. I've tried making the length of the formula longer and/or shorter but nothing seems to work for me. I can get the paragraph to look fine, then change the month and end up losing 2 or 3 letters of a word within the paragraph.
Can anyone help me on this one?

Found the article below on the Crystal Reports Knowledge Base. It describes exporting to PDF format. You will notice the line line that reads:
"Exporting to PDF or RTF in Crystal Reports 8.5 retains the best WYSIWYG (What-you-see-is-what-you-get) format of the original report. "

I guess there is a limitation to what attributes of the original report is maintained in an export to Adobe.

Exporting to PDF or RTF in Crystal Reports

I also had a problem with text (blob) fields getting some lines cut off on an export to PDF. This appears to have been fixed in Crystal 10

Thank you for the information. I'm running VB.Net, 2003 with Crystal 9.1.9360 and still seem to have this problem with text being cutoff on the pdf document. Is anyone aware of a patch for CR Version 9.1 and exporting to pdf?

It may not be the export itself. Does the report export correctly in designer? If it is only exporting incorrectly in your app, my suspicion would be that the app (or probably more specific RAS) doesn't have access to the appropriate printer driver.
