I notice that when I run crystal report ( v9) sql 2k database that the temp files grows pretty big( creates .tmp files). Eventhough that it goes away after the crystal report is done, it still creates a problem due to large files. I have to run 10 reports and the .tmp can be up to 900MB. How can this be prevented?

Thank you

It sounds like Crystal is doing all of the work, and I'm guessing that they're slow to execute.

The key is to pass the SQL to the database by verifying that what's in the Report->Edit Selection Formula is reflected in the Database->Show SQL Query

The report runs slow, I am linking about 7 tables and the report can is pretty slow. some reports can take 2 hours to finish. We did some index checking and still slow.

Anyway, I am unclear on what you are trying to say, What do you mean by

"The key is to pass the SQL to the database by verifying that what's in the Report->Edit Selection Formula is reflected in the Database->Show SQL Query"

What 'em I looking for to make sure that most of the work happens from the database server. And try to minimize processes from the client.
