Crystal Report Server

Hi All,

I am new to Crystal Reports.
I Wanted to find out if there is some thing like a Crystal Report Server.
I have special situation where the user with (crystal clients) can not be given direct odbc connection to the database(because of security & othee concerns), but if I can use a crystal server that works like a repository(periodically updated copy) for the database, then the crystal clients can run the reports of the repository instead of the database.

Any help or ideas will by higly appreciated.

Hi,
Instead of investing in Crystal Enterprise ( or RAS), which would be the way to do that, you could, if the update frequency is not high, export the report as HTML and have your users access that on your web site.

But the user needs to be able to create ad-hoc reports and they already have CR installed on their machines. But we can not give them direct access to our DB.

Sounds like you need Crystal Reports 10 and use Business Views. Business Views abstract the database connection.
