When I open a 'Crystal' report I get the following message:
This report uses an invalid printer. The default printer will be used instead. I click ok.

But, when my report finishes processing some of the fields don't show when I 'Preview'. See example below:

722 427 514
138 213
144
175 314

The fonts I use in the report are all Courier New.

Hopefully, someone has had the same problem and can help me resolve this issue. Thanks in advance for your help.

You might want to check the printer setting on your computer.

If you did not write the report yourself it is also probably a good idea to check that there is no conditional supression being applied to any fields.

MisterMo,

I haven't changed any printer settings on my computer. The other 'Crystal' reports are fine.

faroe,

I created this report myself and I'm not supressing any fields in this report.

Thanks.

Dear brxmas,

Are you positive there should be values for the fields?

The printer information marriage is not relevant. All that means is that you have a printer selected for the report that is not installed on the machine you are now running the report on.

Go to File/Printer setup and select a printer installed on your machine as the Printer for the report. Save the report.

Now close the report and reopen. You should no longer get the printer message and you can move on to seeing why some of the field values are null or blank. You do not give information on the actual design of the report.

Are these "fields" that are not displaying fields or formulas? Perhaps with more information, we can help you.

Whenever the data on my report does not make sense, I go to the source, the data and look at it there. I have never seen an isntance where "crystal decides" not to print data that exists in a field in the database.

Regards,

ro
