Our hosting vendor wants to move our application from a Windows/SQL platform to Unix/Oracle. However, we have several hooks into this remote application, one of them being Crystal Reports where our 650 reports are published to Crystal Enterprise.

We currently use a DNS within the SQL ODBC connection which we should be able to redefine to use an Oracle driver and point to the new IP address and the Oracle database.

All of the Crystal Reports use this ODBC connection as the data source. I am trying to figure out what all has to be changed besides the ODBC connection. Does every report have to be touched, how, and do all 650 reports have to be republished to Crystal Enterprise? Need to determine the work effort involved.

I have heard of third party tools that would allow you to avoid this, but I do not have a name handy.

Without the third party tool, I believe you would need to touch each report.

I hope this helps.
