Crystal Report Design - Database selection

I need to design a Crystal report (v 8.0) that I will launch and run from a VB app. The database source will be SQL. It will run locally on my machine and later launch on clients machine. How do I set up the database link in the Crystal report so that I can launch it from either a local or client machine in VB without error? My first attempts have resulted in multiple errors ("Physical Database not found", "server has not yet been opened&quot

Your application needs to log the report into the database using a command like Connect, LogOnServer or SetLogonInfo.
