Hi,
I've distributed a simple VB 6.0 report viewer to some of my colleagues here at work, and two of them get error messages when they try to open Crystal Reports that are pointing to an Oracle 9i database. The errors are, in order:
First window:
Prompting failed with the following error message: ".
Error Source: Error Code: 0x80004005
Second Window:
Failed to open the connection.
Details: [Database Vendor Code: 12154 ]
I'm using CR XI and VB 6.0 and the operating systems on these PC's are either Windows 2000 or Windows XP. The strange thing about all this is only two out of about 10 PC's are exhibiting this error. I'm guessing it's something on their PC's, and we've even tried using an Oracle/OLE Version switcher to no avail. (there are at least two versions of Oracle on some folks PC's at my workplace, and we've discovered in the past that Crystal Reports Viewer doesn't like it when Oracle versions collide).
Anyone got any ideas? I'm out of 'em. Thanks!
-Neil
