Hey everyone, I have CR9 and am connectiong to an oracle database. Our vender updated from 9i to 10gR2.

But now its super slow to connect to the database via crystal.

When I use the "Oracle Server" connection under the database expert, the window that prompts me for my service, UN, and PW says "Oracle 8 Server" in the title bar.

I dont have an option to use different databases. Is there an upgrade to connect to a version 9 or 10? Could this be causing performance issues?

Do you have the lastest client software installed? I suspect that it is still 'seeing' the old client software and using that connection information, which in turn could be an issue.

I installed the newest version and had the same issue.

I found a post about it being an issue with the "All_synonms" view in version ten.

I only have the slow down when trying to pull back the list of tables in the tree view in the database expert.
