Hi,

I have some report designd with crystal report 7.

I try to open it with version 11,I get error message.

Do you think if I can open it with version 9 or version 10?

Thanks a lot

M

The big change in the RPT engine was between CR 8.5 and 9.

I think you would need to move your RPT from CR 7 to CR 8.5 first, then you can use the XI tools to open a CR 8.5 RPT.

May I move RPT from CR7 to CR9,then use CR11 to open it?

I do not have CR8.5 now.Thanks

M

Try it. If it's OK, make some trivial change and then save. When I did this with 8.5 to 10, it asked then if it should save in the new format.

If that doesn't work, please detail the error message you get. Is it for all Crystal 7 reports or just one?

I think the versions are supposed to be upwardly compatible, but 7 to 11 is a big jump.
