crystal report 11 sub-report questions

This may seem like a simple question but may go a long way in resolving my problem. I have a container report and sub-report. Once I input the values into the container report and run it. Should'nt the same values show up in the sub-report value if I open the sub-report and select refresh? When I click refresh for the sub-report I have to enter the parameter values again.

Link the parameter values in the main report to the subreport.

Better yet, just link the main report parameetrs to the fields in the subreport.

No refresh is rewquired, unless this an on demand subreport...
