Can anyone tell me the difference between creating a Crystal Query and a Crystal Report (supposedly there is a difference)?

Thanks!

A crystal query is from the Crystal SQL Designer program - cqw32.exe. A Crystal Report is from the crystal reports program - crw32.exe.

With a query you are limited to OBDC databases. If you have several Crystal Reports that use the same raw data, you can write one crystal query and base the report on the .qry file, which would keep you from re-reading the entire database every time you ran the crystal report(s). This is the way I have used this tool most often.

However if you are a SQL guru you can just write a stored procedure and base your reports from there.
