Hello, I'm trying to distribute a report using the Web Component Server with CR 8.0. The report is based on a parametrized query in MS Access 2000.

I've set up the connection to the data using an ODBC System DSN.(OLE did not work)

I kept getting page server errors, until I set the page server service to log in as Administrator. So, now the report will run through a browser, but only for the first conection to it. The user can select the date and other options for the report and it will run correctly. Also, it's possible to hit "back" choose different parameters and options and it will run fine again. But that's it. Any other attemts to access the report from the browser or different PC's on the network fail, giving me a page server error.

To get it to work again, the page server service needs to be shut down and restarted.

Note that I've tried to run the page server "as a process" as instructed by Crystal, but the same behavior occurs.

I'm using cr 8.0, IIS 4.0, Win NT 4.0, and Access 2000.

Thanks for any help.

I wish I had some advice to give but, instead I have a question. Before you set Crystal Reports to run under an administrative account, what was the error you were getting? Was it "An Error has occured on the server in attempting to access the data source"?

This is the error I have been getting and I know that we do not have it running under an administrative account.

Yes, I got that error when the Page Server was not logging on as administrator.

However, I recently ported the database to sql server and used Crystal's native driver and all the authentication and permission problems went away.
