Hi Guys,

Not sure if this is the right forum - appologies if not.

I'm familiar with reporting within Access, however I am planning to start to use Crystal instead. Enterprise/ePortfolio is already used within the company, and I am planning to have some training shortly; however I've got a copy of Cystal 10 on my workstation and I'm having problems.

Does anyone know of any good websites for reference? Any advice for an Access developer who is looking to changing reporting to Crystal...?

Any advice really appreciated! :)

Cheers,

Steve.

I don't think that there is a lot out there for you to look at in terms of comparisons between the 2 produts.

Crystal has a different query language to Access and completely blows access away in terms of visualisation and performance.

At least your going to know roughly what you need to do to a report from what you know about access so thats a good start, some of the syntax is similar e.g iif() statements. So having an idea about what you need to do is a head start so to speak. The syntax that you use in access probably won't be too far away from the syntax that you will use in Crystal so you can always cross check the functions to see any comparisons.

My advice would be to get a good book to use as reference as well as your training.

I'm sure others on the forum will have ideas for you too.

Good luck and enjoy the delights of crystal )
