My company is currently using an application developed using the Crystal 8.5 control to run reports that anyone in the company has access to over Citrix sessions. We want to upgrade to the lastest version (XI likely) and use a web portal for running reports instead of Citrix, but are unsure of what our licensing situation would be.

There would be no more than 10 report developers, but up to 50 concurrent users that would need to be able to run the reports online (intranet, not public).

One person told us that we would have to pay $30000 canadian to get the package that allows 20-100 users (20-40 concurrent?), but this would appear to be basically paying the cost for the full development suite for every single user, not just 10, with a license for the control for the other 100.

Can anyone clarify this?

Thanks

The portal (Crystal Report Server & Business Objects Enterprise) is different than your design (Crystal Reports) application. You need both.

Crystal Reports Developer($595 US) & Pro ($495 US) XI comes with CRS XI with 5 named users license.

Crystal Report Server XI ($7,500 for 5 cal) has a 20 cal limit and I believe comes with 1 CR Pro license.

BOE XI ($70k CPU $750 named user) also comes with 1 CR Pro license.

With your user base you might get by with CRS XI 20 cal.
