crystal in web server

Hi,

I´m trying to access a crystal reports 8.0 report from internet explorer. I´m reading Seagate help about that, and it is saied that there are two services needed to run reports via web: web component server and Seagate Page Server. However in the services window I only have the first one. Thus the second one doesn´t exist any more (maybe I´m reading an old help) or my inatallation is incorrect?

You definitely need both executables to be running to run reports from IE. I would search for pageserver.exe. If found you can run the pageserver from a command prompt:

"x:\program files\seagate software\wcs\pageserver.exe" -console -loglevel 09

for example (the quotes are necessary)

If you don't find the pageserver.exe I would try to add the web components again from disk.

Hi,

I had installed it, however I only have the first one. I look in the CD and I found that file. I run it... but I can´t see it in the services window( I´m using Win2000). In the dos promp I get: Seagate Page Server... so it seems it would be initialized. I has also to install separately the activeX viewer.

When I´m trying to rn the report I get: The specified module could not be found.

Hi again,

I realised thatas soon as i run the server in a cmd promp, in the event viewer (application log) I get 2 information events... the first says that the server ad started... but the second says that it as stopped

I already installed the viewer and I had made a virtual directory and I configured the component manager to that virtual directory. Another strange thing is that my component manager is diferent from that in the hlep file: I dont´have the file extensions tab... However I associated the rpt and cri file extensions in my web server by hand.

Sorry, I omitted the -cache in front of -console. If you do not find the pageserver.exe on your hard drive (should be in c:\program files\seagate software\wcs) then I would consider reinstalling the web component services sections for Crystal Reports 8. The file did not make off the CD to your drive for some reason.

I get this erro on the console:

CSISocket::bind() failed: WSA10048

I put the files by hand on the disk.

However if I stop the component server... I will get this on the console:

After times to times this will be appearing in the console:

...................... ETC

So, is this good? lol Is the service running?
Even if this is running, I had to stoped the other component service... is it a port conflit?

Ok,

I had changed the ports...and now I can run the 2 services.
However I dont´know if that stuff I get in the console are good yhings or not... That is what you get in your console?

Well, presuming that it means pagerserver is running,...I can´t still see any reports using html. I get this error: The specified module could not be found.

ok... again

I was trying to run the report like this:

localhost\teste\test.rpt

However now I tried to make a html file with a rl like this:

I get a blank page with a kind of applet, but nothing appens. I made a trace in SQL SERVER and I don´t get any connection to the database... so the problem is connecting from the page to crystal...why? any ideias?
