Hi Everyone,

Apologies for the esay, but I'm having a bit of a problem with our Crystal Enterprise setup.
We are running CE 8.5 pro on a Windows 2000 SP4 server.
Over the weekend we have upgraded our SQL and Analysis Services server from Windows 2000 to Windows 2003.
The upgrade has gone fine, with no errors, but we are left with a major problem after the upgrade.

When I try and view our Crystal Analysis cubes using either our own front end or the Crystal Management console I enter my details for the secondary logon but instead of the cube I get :

An error occurred while connecting to the datasource: Failed to set properties (Database 'new_him_test' does not exist.)

Analysis services is working fine - I can browse the cubes using analysis manager, in fact I can even view the cubes using Crystal Analysis without any problem at all - it is only through Crystal Enterprise that I get any sort of error. I have tried reinstalling Analysis services, have reapplied Analysis services SP3, reinstalled SQL 2000 SP3, I have saved the cubes as .car files and republished them but all to no avail. Our Crystal Enterprise version is 8.5 running on Windows 2000 SP4. I have installed Crystal Enterprise SP2 but this did not fix it eitehr.

I have installed Analysis Services on another windows 2000 server and imported the cube into this system , but still get the same error.
I have also used changed the cube the cap report uses to one of the demo ones that install with Analysis serviecs, but still get the same problem (except it is the database foodmart2000 that can not be found)

Any suggestions anyone can give me would be gratefully received.

Thanks,

Peter.

As you can see from some previous threads CE is not yet supported on Win 2003 Server.

There are two important exceptions to note when planning to deploy Crystal Enterprise (CE) 9 on a Windows 2003 platform:

• CE 9 does not support Internet Information Services (IIS) 6 as a web server. Therefore, Windows 2003 server is supported for CE 9 components but is not supported as a web server for CE 9.

• CE 9 ships with Microsoft Data Engine (MSDE) 1.0 which Microsoft does not support on Windows 2003.
You will receive the following error when installing CE 9 APS on Windows 2003 Server, however the install will complete successfully:
