Crystal Enterprise 8.5 Evaluation Copy

Does anybody know where I can download(if I can)an evaluation copy of crystal enterprise 8.5? I want to test the product and write up a proposal for upper managment. Crystal decisions does not seem to want to help me.

Nope, though you get CE 8.0 with the purchase of CR 8.5 Pro or Dev. The look and feel is similar, CE 8.5 just has more functionality and API suppport.

If you can demonstrate a potential for significant revenue, Crystal Decisions WILL get you a copy.

Evaluations versions of CE8.5 are available but they are subject to CD determining that your organisation is seriously considering purchasing CE and not just window shopping.

Talk to your local sales rep and see what can be arranged. Maybe if you offer to purchase a day or two of consulting to get your evaluation system up and running correctly - not a huge cost in the big scheme of things the sales rep - he or she may be more likely to provide an eval version.

My personal view is that CE is a considerable investment for an organisation and you should be able to at least be able to make a valid evaluation of the suitability of the software prior to purchase.
