Crystal Enterprise 8.0 and Active Directory 1

Has anyone had trouble install in the Plug-In with CE 8? The file on the website says that CE 8.0 will work with it, but when I try to install it gives me the following error?

Error 1723. There is a problem with the Windows Installer package. A DLL Required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personel or package vendor.

Any ideas?

Spoke with Crystal yesterday on this. The AD plugin does not support CE 8. On their website where it says 8.5,8 for the versions it should just be 8.5. There is a seperate plugin for 9. I am going through the upgrade process right now for that to get that functionality.

Thanks Guyute97. I had a bad feeling about this and I knew that was probably the answer. I was going to try to call them but I have had other issues on my plate. Thanks for the update.

I didn't get to the point of the error. I notived in the pdf that it was only talking about 8.5 so I called before getting the error. They had me start the installer and it was looking for an 8.5 directory so we stopped it before getting to that point. The tech talked to the Enterprise "resource", most likely a developer who said the plugin won't work.

Fortunately, I am just building out the server so the 8 -> 9 upgrade wasn't a big deal.
