Crystal Enterprise 10 with Crystal Reports 8.5

Hi All.

I want to the free copy of crystal enterprise professional (which I belive to be version 10)onto a terminal server enviroment which only has crystal reports 8.5 installed. I can not upgrade to crystal reports 9 or higher as my software vendor only supports 8.5 and older.

Will there be any problem with me doing this?

What I mean is will reports written in 8.5 work in enterprise 10?

Hi,
Yes, but some of the administrative utilities ( the ones in the left hand box on the admin launchpad) will not work since the 8.5 report does not have all the object properties that some of those tools look for.

The reports themselves will work, but( IIRC), once published, they become v10 reports and cannot be opened directly in CR 8.5 ( the published version only, your original .rpt file is unchanged..).
