I am installing a Crystal Enterprise 10 cluster. Specs are:

Windows Server 2003 Ent RC2 x86
MSSQL 2005 Remote DB, SP3
Crystal Ent 10 SP6 applied

I can install a stand-alone installation on each server, no problem. Even using the remote DB it is fine. When I join both to the same CMS db to put them in a cluster, and login to the CMC, each server cannot see the other server's services properly. To clarify, the CMC can see all the services, but the service on the remote server are all listed as not started, even though they are.

All services are Enabled, etc..

Any Ideas?

Any Ideas? I have tried everything I can think of. This is killing me :(

Hi,
Check the event viewer on remote and see what errors may be in there.

Be sure that the account ( hopefully a Domain account)
that the services run under ( on BOTH machines) has full access rights to the CMS server and its database.

I cannot find any errors in any logs, event viewer or MSSQL

If I login to the CMC on the first server, and go to the servers page, The status of all the local services is good, but the remote server services status is stopped.

If I login to the CMC on the second, same thing, all local services are running and it shows the remote ones as stopped.

This seems like the two servers cannot talk to each other, but I checked RPC, etc and all is good. If I open the service MMC, I can connect to the remote server no problem and see all the services no problem

I have installed many of these systems and this is the only time I have had a problem. Could it be a new security feature in RC2 or SP2 (Server 2003) that is screwing me?

Hi,
Are both servers on the same subnet? Any firewall issues?
Did you check the accounts to be sure they have rights?
Just because you can see the remote services does not mean the CMS service can.
