Hi,

We did an upgrade of our server to Active Directory and now our crystal report 8 does not work anymore on our webserver..

Any solution?

IIRC Active Directory enforces fully qualified domain names (FQDN).

This is (most likely) the root cause of your problem. Deleting and re-adding the CE services *should* resolve the issue, or you may need to reference the name server as FQDN in order for the services to find the CMS.

Basically it's messy, your network guys should be able to help you out.

Hi,
I suspect the CE8 does not support AD authentication ( at least 'out-of-the-box') since even CE8.5 needed to have an add-in installed to use AD..

Thanks for the reply.. I have Crystal Enterprise 8..Do I need to upgrade to Crystal Enterprise 8.5 inorder to use th plugin?

We don't have Enterprise 8.5 we have Crystal Professional 10. Will Crystal Professional 10 work?

KingfisherINC - if I want to try your suggestion, what do I need to do first? I am not in network but if I ask the network guys to do it, I need to be able to tell them what to do.

Thanks

If you want your users to login using Active Directory Authentication then you will need to upgrade Enterprise - When you say Crystal Professional 10, do you mean Crystal Reports Professional 10? which is not Enterprise, if you really mean Crystal Enterprise Professional 10, then that will work fine.

If, however, you just want users to logon the same old way they always have (which you don't specify [sad]) then the issue is most likely with server name resolution: So if your server was called foo; it is now called foo.yourdomain.com.
You will need to add new CE services via the Crystal Configuration Manager, and delete the old ones. The new ones should resolve the server name correctly.
