So, I was able to install the CR Enterprise Embedded 10 and after removing a dependency, have the service running. The problem is that from my web site running classic ASP, when calling any Crystal report, I am getting the following error in the IIS logs:
2015-10-13 20:30:40 172.16.10.17 GET ...path to report|-|ASP_0115|Unexpected_error 443 - 172.16.10.13 Mozilla/5.0+(compatible;+MSIE+10.0;+Windows+NT+6.1;+WOW64;+Trident/6.0) 500 0 0 327

and also the following in the Windows application logs:
Error: File ...filename and path... Unexpected error. A trappable error (C0000005) occurred in an external object. The script cannot continue running..

I know that perhaps this version is not supported, but has anyone figured this out yet?

This software is long out of support so there is no guarantee you'll get it to work. However, here's a few things to check:

1. This is 32-bit software even though the server is 64-bit. Make sure that you have the 32-bit database clients installed and, if you're using ODBC, that the connections have been created in the 32-bit ODBC Administrator.

2. See whether you can configure the CRE services to run in compatibility mode that will provide compatibility on Win 2008 for an earlier version of Windows.
