I am writing a report that will have a couple of odd summaries & I'm not sure how to go about them yet.

Here's a little info.
Whse 001 is West - South Plant (Light Production)
Whse 003 is West - North Plant (Heavy Production)
Whse 050 is East - Only Plant (Light & Heavy Production)

I'm hiding the detail. So the Whse Group is my visible detail. I need to sum up whse 001 & 003 data so it's sum can be compared (visually only) to the 050 numbers. Also, at the end of the report, I need to show Year To Date information blended right in with the other data. Hopefully the example I've done right below here will help show what I need.

Thanks,
Don

Please explain the odd date grouping criteria? WHat formula might that be using?

Assuming seperate rows for each piece of data, you might use a Running Total or the 3 formula method:

A RT would have the field you're summing in it and in the evaluate use a formula something like:

{table.field} in ["001","003"]

Then have it reset at whatever this oddball date grouping is.

Place your fields in the Group Footer, and then right click the group footer and select New Section Below.

Place the RT in there, and then right click the section with the RT and select format section->X2 next to suppress and place something like.

not(
{table.whse} = "003"
and
next({table.whse}) = "050"
)

Now it will suppress except for when that condition is met, so you'll get the current total for that grouping.

I think you could handle this by using a record selection formula that includes all dates year to date, and then insert groups on:

date(monthly)
date(weekly)
{@eastwest}
warehouse

{@eastwest} is a formula:

if {table.whse} in ["001","003"] then "West" else "East"

Then you could insert summaries on your data for all groups and for the grand total, which would reflect year-to-date data.

To only show those records in a particular month, use format->section to suppress those earlier months that you don't want displayed.
