We know with a compiled report in v8.5, you can select a time to print a report, but has anyone set them up to print at the same time every day, or on a specific schedule without user imput? With a command string, or another method?

You might want to check out Ido Millet's application - Visual Cut. A lot of our Macola clients use this tool to burst Crystal reports (e.g. print all OE Acknowledgements, but create a separate and distinct output file for each customer). It can also be used a report preview tool (same as the defunct compile option in Crystal), and can be scheduled to run through any standard scheduling tool (Windows Schedule). One of the nice features of his product, is the ability to burst and email reports. Email acknowledgements, sales reports, order status lists etc. - works well and I highly recommend it. We also have customers that use it in conjunction with FaxWare to fax order acknowledgements. Ido's website is
Of course, you could always add your Crystal Report to a VB project, make it an executable, and schedule it through Windows Scheduler.

Also Knowledge Sync can run scheduled events that are exe as are compiled reports. Saw an article in crystal decisions kb re running compiled reports at a specific time a few days ago. Search the KB, keyword compile & the specific version you want. FYI: Knowledge Sync will be known as Macola Event Manager in ES. They have a fully functional trial download that shuts off after 30 or 45 days or something. Worth a look see.

Visual CUT is highly recommended. We have this at a couple of clients and it is dong some wonderful things.
