Crystal Data Access to Access 97 D/B

Basic question.
I have just fired up Crystal reports for the first time.
When I attempt to connect through ODBC to an ACCESS '97 D/B
I am getting the message "You do not have authorisation to access this database".

Do I have to configure/define this D/B to ODBC and do I have to do it as Administrator.
