If I include a report in my vb6 application and send the entire application to someone without Crystal will they be able to see the report in real time?

Yes, if you include all of the Crystal runtime files, and the connection to the data is the same on their PC. Ken Hamady

These are listed in a help file which is in (on my machine):

C:\Program Files\crw8\Developer Files\Help\Royalty Free Runtime.hlp

The list varies depending on how you are launching CR from the app. Ken Hamady

I appreciate your help very much but I don't have the developer edition, I have the professional edition. Do you have a suggestion as to how to look up this topic on the seagate website?

If you have V8 you need the developer edition. If you have V7 you need the professional edition. What do you have? Ken Hamady

I don't believe that V8 Pro comes with VB runtime files for CR. You can download the Compile feature for V8 which allows them to run reports from a shortcut (see the FAQ on compiled reports) but I believe to incorporate a report into VB you will need the Developer's edition. Ken Hamady
